Welcome
The New Graduate and Professional Student Orientation (NGPSO) welcomes new graduate and professional students to the University of New Mexico and introduces them to the many resources for graduate and professional students at the university.
In 2009, the NGPSO will provide an opportunity for new graduate and professional students to meet key campus leaders and attend breakout sessions – (1) Faculty & Peer Mentoring, (2) Graduate and Professional Student Research and Success, (3) Student Funding & Assistantships, (4) Students of Color and (5) Work/Life/School Balance. In addition, participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a resource fair and reception with almost 100 campus departments, student organizations and community groups.
It’s easy for students to register online, and this year the NGPSO Working Group is proud to announce that free babysitting and parking are being provided for NGPSO participants. We look forward to meeting all the new UNM graduate and professional students at the orientation!
The 2009 NGPSO Working Group is made of staff and students from African American Student Services (AASS), Alumni Association, American Indian Student Services (AISS), Black Graduate & Professional Student Association (BGPSA), Career Services, Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS), College of Education, Dean of Students, El Centro de la Raza, Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA), Mentoring Institute, Office of Equity and Inclusion, Office of Graduate Studies (OGS), Office of International Programs and Studies (OIPS), Office of Research, Project for New Mexico Graduates of Color (PNMGC), Raza Graduate Student Association (RGSA), Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), Title V and University Libraries.
